Description
The Polish Red Hellpup is one of the most striking Hellpup builds available, wearing rich red Polish laminated wood and a matching red pistol grip. Built by Pioneer Arms in Radom, Poland on licensed Kalashnikov blueprints, this 11.73-inch 7.62×39 AK pistol is in stock at DK Gun and ships to your local FFL dealer.
Polish Red Hellpup Overview
With an 11.73-inch barrel, the full-size Hellpup delivers more velocity and a longer sight radius than the Micro Hellpup while staying far handier than a rifle. Many owners choose it as a do-everything 7.62×39 AK that is easy to store, easy to transport and comfortable to shoot all day.
This is the standard configuration with a traditional rear trunnion. It keeps the profile clean, the weight down and the price low, which makes this model one of the best entry points into the Hellpup family.
The red laminated wood is cut and finished in Poland, then paired with a light red polymer pistol grip for a cohesive, collector-grade look. Under the color, it is the same reliable Hellpup action that has made the series a favorite with AK owners. This model is a Hicks Inc. exclusive, so it is not offered by every dealer.
Like every Pioneer Arms Hellpup, it is produced in buildings once used by Poland’s Radom military arsenal. A forged front trunnion, front sight gas block and the traditional AK optics side rail give you the durability and mounting options AK owners expect.

Firearms ship only to a federally licensed (FFL) dealer. Enter your dealer at checkout, and we ship once we confirm their license. Most orders leave within 1 to 3 business days.
Range Day and Ownership Tips
Before your first trip to the range, field strip the pistol, wipe away the factory preservative and put a light coat of oil on the bolt carrier rails, the bolt and the inside of the receiver. Function check the safety and trigger with an empty chamber, then load your magazines. Most owners find that steel-cased and brass-cased ammunition both run well, but it is worth testing a few brands to see which groups best in your gun.
A longer barrel keeps noise and flash moderate for a compact firearm, but quality ear and eye protection is still a must. Start at 7 to 10 yards, confirm your sights or optic, and then move back as your confidence grows. A sling or brace, where legal, makes longer strings of fire far more comfortable.
After shooting, clean the bore and chamber, scrub the gas piston and gas tube, and re-oil the moving parts. If you use corrosive surplus ammunition, clean the same day with hot soapy water or a dedicated solvent. Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition stored separately, and keep a simple log of rounds fired so you know when to replace springs and other wear parts.
